Verse
for the loss of a girl child
Our Love Will Never Die
You lived
inside this family
And possessed our hearts and souls
And now that you're an Angel
We'll never see you grow
We only held you for a while
As tears stream down our faces
We saw this family kiss you good night
As you took off to another place
Rainbows stars the sun and the moon
All our dreams and wishes
You were the light in this dreary world
Full of warmth and kisses
We know we will survive
Because we truly do believe
That one day we'll meet in Heaven
And be a family again
We wish we had more time with you
But our love will never die
You are in our hearts forever
Emily, this is not goodbye

For Our Precious Child
We wondered who you'd be like
Maybe Mum, perhaps Dad
We wondered what your future held,
A future you never had.
We looked into your eyes
And held your tiny hands;
Now you play on streets of gold
Up above in a heavenly land.
Why you're no longer here
We just can't understand,
But we know we’ll recognize you
In that heavenly land.
We'll know your precious voice,
We'll hug you, oh, so near;
Our hearts will be complete again -
We’ll thank the stars
That brought you here.

Balloon release
From the
heart of our very beings
We wish
for you a balmy breeze
To lift
your spirit high
And that
you shall soar on eagles wings
As these
coloured balloons
Which
drift up into the sky.

A Special Kind of Love
Never
again will we see your sweet little face
Never
again will we get to have a warm embrace
Never
again will we touch your soft velvet skin
Never will
we forget what you meant from within
Always you
will be in our thoughts of yesterday
Always you
will be our baby that couldn't stay
Always you
will be our little angel up above
watching over us with a special kind of love!

These words are adapted from the song 'FLY' by Celine
Dion.
Fly, fly our precious one,
Your endless journey has begun.
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this world.
Cross over to the other shore,
Where there is peace for-evermore.
But hold this memory bittersweet,
Until once again we meet.
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time,
The moon will rise, the sun will set,
But, we won’t forget.
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing...
Fly away - the time is right
Go now and find the light.

This Deep Love
This life was no less dear
Because it was so brief;
The flower blooming for a day
Is just as fair as any tree in leaf;
The ray that lights a
Golden moment and is gone
Is just as lovely as
The light that fills our day,
And this deep love
We feel for this dear child,
Is one with the greatest loves
That we have known.

THERE IS A NEW STAR SHINING IN THE SKY TONIGHT
There is an old belief that the stars shining in the
night sky are the spirits of those who have died. They
have shed their earthly bodies and exchanged them for
bodies made of light; thousands upon thousands of our
dear departed friends all promoted to glory in the night
sky. There is another saying that the brightest flame
burns the shortest.
Emily, you were the brightest star in our universe.
While we burn on, our flame dimmed by grief and despair
at your passing, the stars are watching us. They are too
far away for us to touch, just as you have gone
somewhere We cannot follow until our own star-time
comes. They cannot be held close for comfort, just as we
can no longer hold you close, though we held you close
to comfort you in your times of need. We were together
for such a short time, but the stars will burn forever.
One day we will grow tired of these earthbound bodies,
our own star-time will come and our spirit will soar
into the sky to burn with all those lovely family and
friends who have gone before us. On the inky cloth of
space we will be reunited in constellations of joy.
Until then, our flames burn low and dim and cold without
you. Through our tears we look upwards to see if you are
watching us and what do we see?
There is a new star shining in the sky tonight.
Christina Rossetti
Nature’s Rainbows
You held her in your
parent arms
For days or weeks or
years.
Now you hold her in your
hearts
And cry the darkest
tears.
The cord attached to
children,
Eternally fine and
strong.
You’ll never lose the
missing;
It holds you all life
long.
Your children now inside
you -
Your souls tattooed with
gold.
Their love, their words,
caresses,
Are hugs that you still
hold.
If you open to the
knowledge,
That they aren’t
completely gone,
You will sometimes feel
their touching,
Sometimes soft and
sometimes strong.
When they show you
nature’s rainbows,
You can feel their proud
delight,
Sending signs to show
their living,
Only far beyond your
sight.

Today is the Bridge
If
yesterday is for cherished memories
And
tomorrow presents a range of possibilities
Then today
is the bridge that links the two
If
yesterday fills us with warmth and joy
And
tomorrow presents as hard and cold
Then today
seems a distance too great to travel alone
If
yesterday holds our hopes and dreams
And
tomorrow presents as so far away
Then today
seems like an impassable void
If
yesterday is forever locked in our hearts
And
tomorrow will come as it always does
Then today
we will do what we must do
Today we
must say goodbye to this special child
A baby,
daughter, sister and friend
Who
yesterday gave us so many wonderful memories
And
tomorrow will forever remain in our hearts

The Cord
We are
connected, my daughter and I
By an
invisible cord not seen by the eye
It’s not like
the cord that connects us ‘til birth
This cord
can’t be seen by any on Earth
This cord
does its work right from the start
It binds us
together, attached to my heart
I know that
its there though no-one can see
The invisible
cord - from my daughter to me.
The strength
of this cord is hard to describe
It can’t be
destroyed, it can’t be denied
It’s stronger
than any cord man could create.
It withstands
the test, can hold any weight
And though
you are gone and not here with me
The cord is
still there, that no-one can see
It pulls at
my heart, I am bruised. I am sore
But this cord
is my lifeline as never before
I am thankful
that we are connected this way.
A mother and
child – death can’t take it away.
